Elks Memorial Service
Sunday December 3rd, 2023
12:00pm - 12:45 PM
Members and Guests, our Order has decreed that the first Sunday in December be set apart for Elks to gather and freshen with the dew of recollection the tender blossoms of hope and love entwined about the memory of their departed. Obedient to our laws, and with hearts attuned in perfect sympathy, we meet on this Memorial Day to pledgea new Fidelity to the memory of our fellow Members who have entered into the realm of eternity.
To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.
What's Going on Cortez Elks?
This Fraternal Order was founded "To promote and practice the four cardinal virtues of Charity: Have you volunteered lately?
Justice: Do you treat others fairly and justly?
Brotherly Love: Are you welcoming to visitors and other members of the Elks Lodge?
Fidelity: Are you trustworthy?
Why the Elks?
"to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism and cultivate good fellowship."
